Here’s my beef! I invite us to make a greater effort to understand one another

An F&L The European Freight and Logistics Leaders’ Forum series of short personal comments on the global freight logistics market

Dear colleagues and friends,

I sincerely congratulate you on the completion of the year and wish you a bright 2026. Each time, I am struck by how symbolically our world works: in the darkest and probably coldest time of the year, we not only celebrate the most beautiful holidays, but also see the days finally beginning to grow longer and brighter.

Of course, brighter days in nature over the coming semester are programmed. In our work, in business and communities, achieving them will, as always, require effort. Likely more than in previous years, but with each year we carry an ever greater “baggage” of experience, wisdom and like-minded partners.

I do not think an easy year lies ahead. In Lithuania, a consumption boom is forecast, yet in the wider world, competition for talent and capital will continue to intensify. Under such conditions, bold, forward-looking and strategic decisions are essential. We can make such decisions in our personal lives, but in businesses, and even more so in cities and the state, broader consensus is needed.

Therefore, as we step into 2026, I invite us to talk more, share more, show more and make a greater effort to understand one another. I have no doubt that the core goals of many of us coincide, even if we often see different paths to reach them. Perhaps this, too, could be the true light that illuminates both our goals and the roads leading to them. Seeing all of this more clearly, each of us would reach where we want to be sooner.
