What is changing for leaders and their teams
An F&L The European Freight and Logistics Leaders’ Forum series of short personal comments on the global freight logistics market.
Things are changing fast for all people managers.
The importance of the job is not measured by the size of the team anymore.
The influence in the organization doesn’t correlate with the number of reporting layers.
The quality of the manager is not defined by the proximity to their direct reports.
New corporate functions are evolving: Producer, Connector, Advisor, and AI Mentor.
Which one are you? Do you have the skills to succeed in the new career architecture that is dictated by the speed of the business and the uncertainty of the environment?
Discussion with the F&L community included new measures of success for companies who are shifting from a long-term value focus to capturing opportunity and market attention: how do leaders respond appropriately? Also of interest: what makes companies well-built for the next cycle: is being historically well-known a guarantee for tomorrow or do teams judge a company’s relevance and competitiveness differently in today’s market? Assessment of leaders and sometimes where this fails. Also thinking about the 100 year life and longevity as well as blurred lines between leaders, their teams and the new corporate functions.
Info from this session shared with F&L Members.
Recent previous input why most companies lose before they even start recruiting & the art of a strategic pause.
