F&L is an independent not-for-profit members’ forum, set up in 1994 and registered in Belgium as an ASBL. Apart from marketing materials F&L does in principle not share your personal data with non-F&L members. Presence / registration lists for F&L events can be shared with F&L members and other participants /registrants for such event. F&L reserves the right to access, read, preserve and disclose all data necessary to comply with law or court order; to enforce or apply our agreements with you and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of F&L, of our employees, our users or others (for example our members).
Disclosure to law enforcement: in certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your personal data in response to valid and binding requests from public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
F&L events are in principle governed by a tailored “Chatham House Rule”. That Chatham House rule helps to create a trusted environment to understand and resolve complex matters. When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the tailored Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s) in relation to his/her particular content may be revealed externally. Speaker presentations /materials can however be shared with F&L members and participants to the F&L event but should not be shared externally without the consent of the speaker or without his/her anonymization.
How do we store your data?
We use appropriate technical, organizational and administrative security measures to protect any information we hold in our files against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, no undertaking can fully guarantee complete security; unauthorized introduction or use, hardware or software failure and other factors may compromise the security of the user’s data at any time.
Personal data about you will not be kept for longer than necessary for the purposes identified herein, in principle for up to 10 years after the end of the contractual relationship with you (if any), unless shorter or longer retention periods apply as per applicable statutory obligations.
Marketing
F&L may communicate information about F&L activities and services we think you might like, as well as those of the F&L Members. You have the right at any time to stop F&L from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, write an email to sec@europeanfreightleaders.eu.
